MICROFINANCING/ MICROBUSINESSES IN TANOP VILLAGE

Microfinance has the ability to change lives. There is nothing like the power it has to help people help themselves. It is a wonderful way to help impoverished individuals climb out of the cycle of poverty.

The successful history of repayments is one that makes the bigger lending institutions envious.

It is a way to restore pride in people, by enabling individuals to become responsible for their own destiny. To foresee a future for their own growth and sustainability.

We will be endeavouring to get together more groups in the village, and finance more loans early next year.

FROM MOTO DRIVER TO TUK TUK DRIVER

Mr Tek and His New Tuk-tuk

We have already financed a man with a new second-hand tuk tuk.

Mr Chanthan Tek was earning less than $2 a day as a moto taxi driver. He struggled to support his wife and three children on that wage. His income now averages $5 a day, and his smile is our just reward!

His new business was financed by a donation of $370. Mr Tek's future now appears to be much brighter. He is proud and happy to be able to provide for his family, and to be able to afford more nutritious food for them.

More news on these microfinancing projects will come later on this year.

With your support, we can make a difference!
