SPONSORSHIP AND HOW IT HELPS
TYPES OF SPONSORSHIP
1. CHILD SPONSORSHIP
POVERTY DENIES A CHILD THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS!
Children like Nita Sorn have suffered greatly.
Without support her future looks bleak.
GIVING a child like Nita the gift of an education gives her the gift of hope ………and a future.
Education can change a young life and give children opportunities of escaping the cycle of poverty they are in. Poverty which often results in a life of begging, sexual exploitation, child trafficking, abuse and prostitution.
CAMBODIAN CHILDREN ARE THEIR COUNTRY’S FUTURE.
Cambodia suffered greatly during the Khmer Rouge Regime.
Most of the educated class were tortured and killed, leaving a deep void in Cambodian society that can still be felt in the country today.
Education is the greatest gift we can give these children, for they are their country’s future.
Help us put back some of the fabric of society that has been lost.
Many children at our school are without parents, are extremely poor, and are in desperate need of our support to help them reach their full potential.
By sponsoring a child’s education, we can play such a rewarding part in changing a young life.
We are a very small organization, so we treasure the fact that we are personally able to see to our children’s needs, and maintain that special relationship between the sponsored child and their sponsor. This is very beneficial to both parties. Children, whose lives seem bleak, have added hope in knowing that someone cares about them. It is a wonderful feeling to know we CAN make a difference in someone’s life.

Your sponsorship supports your sponsored child, and also helps support the child’s family and their school community.
Sponsors will receive their child’s photo, details about the child, and reports and information on the child’s progress at school.
Communication between the child and their sponsor is encouraged.
WHAT YOUR CONTRIBUTION FUNDS.
On the Sponsor’s behalf, the child will receive school uniforms, necessary items of clothing, shoes and a school bag, school supplies, a health pack ( toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, soap, shampoo and other personal items needed), Health Care ( Dental and Medical) , mosquito nets as well as emergency aid support for the child and the child’s family.

2. TEACHER SPONSORSHIP
We employ 9 local teachers at the school.
We believe in paying them a wage that will be sufficient for them to have a standard of living without extreme poverty and hardship. A wage that will support a quality of life to enable them to live with dignity and pride. To know that their hard work and dedication to our school is acknowledged and justly rewarded.
TEACHERS’S SPONSORSHIP $50 AUD monthly. (Tax Deductible)
We still need sponsors for some of our teachers. This sponsorship is vital for the continuation of our work at the school, and to increase what we can offer our children there.

3. SPONSOR A UNIVERSITY STUDENT
Each June we seek support for some of our students to attend University or to receive vocational training in Phnom Penh.
We see this as an extremely important aspect of out project work . In this way we are building up and enriching the skills within the community.
This is a positive contribution in offering opportunities to people, to secure their future away from poverty, and put skills back into the local community.
$1200 AUD per annum covers the cost of University fees, accommodation, food, clothing, Educational materials and expenses. It also supplies the student with a bicycle.
Our criteria for selecting students is as follows:
- They need to have passed Year 12, and received their Secondary School graduation certificate.
- They have to be from extremely poor families who are unable to further their studies without financial support.
- They have to be the first in their family to receive an education.
- They are required to have a goal, determination and dedication to commit to study.
